CHARLOTTE, NC, July 29, 2025 – DebtBook, a leading provider of software for government and nonprofit treasury and accounting teams, announced today that the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (“SFPUC”) has selected the DebtBook software platform to support the agency’s Capital Finance team in managing its debt portfolio. DebtBook will also help streamline reporting and accounting processes and support long-term financial planning as the agency prepares for continued capital investment over the next decade.
The SFPUC delivers essential water, power, and wastewater services to San Francisco and the broader region. To support this infrastructure, the agency manages more than $10 billion in outstanding debt across four separately rated entities along with three interim funding programs totaling approximately $2.5 billion as of June 20, 2025. Over the next decade, the SFPUC expects to issue an additional $11 billion in long-term borrowing to fund continued capital investment.
“We’re pleased to support the SFPUC with tools that help their team manage a dynamic and growing debt portfolio,” said Tyler Traudt, CEO and Co-Founder of DebtBook. “It’s a valuable opportunity to support the agency’s commitment to its ratepayers by improving oversight of its business systems and advancing long-term capital planning.”
By moving away from spreadsheets and legacy systems, the SFPUC will use DebtBook to centralize debt management activities across its capital finance and accounting teams. The platform will improve transparency and reporting around the agency’s debt portfolio, support the production of disclosure materials, and simplify audit and accounting workflows for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
