Q: Tell us about your role here at DebtBook.

A: I dedicate a lot of my time to creating new training resources for our data team to reference especially when we start working on new standards. Additionally, I work closely with our Customer Success leaders to gather feedback from clients on data extraction and communication. Since I started, what has evolved the most has been the size of the team. The Enablement Team used to be two people so work was divided between the two of us. As the company grew, so did the team and our responsibilities, therefore we have created better processes and have more people to help!

Q: What do you enjoy about working at DebtBook?

A: What I enjoy most about working at DebtBook is the great group of people. I have always felt like part of a team that collaborates and helps each other out without hesitation. Given the size of the company, I know who most people are, which helps us interact with other departments even if it is not work-related.

Q: Tell us about what you enjoy doing outside of work.

A: I really like to bake. Outside of work hours, I like to bake pastries, like macarons. These are difficult to make (according to everyone), but I’ve always been good at following instructions, so reading and following a recipe has never been too difficult for me. I really enjoy making them because it lets me distract myself from other household chores, but I mostly enjoy people loving the taste!

Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?

A: I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, I don’t think I even knew when I started college! I was always good with numbers so I knew I would likely be good at something that involved math. I think the first career I ever thought of pursuing was teaching and then I ended up in accounting.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about being an Accounting & Product Enablement Manager?

A: Working with my team. I am so proud of the Enablement Team we have built and it is the absolute best part of my job. It is amazing to be able to work with so many smart professionals and see them grow so much.

Q: Is there a book, podcast, or other learning tool you recommend to engineering professionals?

A: I like to listen to The Indicator by Planet Money. This podcast has quick, short episodes on situations regarding business and the economy. It’s fast and informative and helps to keep up with what’s happening around us and how it can benefit you.
